5 Signs that it’s Time to Replace Your Window Blinds

If your blinds appear outdated and/or bent, then you could significantly transform your home’s aesthetic by replacing them with new ones. At Liberty Glass & Blinds, we can take your desires and budget into consideration and then make recommendations accordingly for new blinds for your home. And once you’ve made your selection, our crew can expertly install them. Here are five signs that you should replace your window blinds.
Discoloration
When window blinds are continually exposed to the sun over the years, they can develop an ugly yellowish color. When you select new blinds with excellent UV protection, this won’t be as much of an issue going forward.
Hard to Raise/Lower Them
Standard wear and tear can degrade the mechanisms that enable your blinds to go up and down. New blinds will allow you to easily raise and lower them.
Damaged Slats
If your slats have become bent or otherwise damaged, they can detract from your home’s aesthetic appeal, while also preventing total privacy. New blinds will look sharp and prevent the outside world from being able to see into your home.
Problems with Tilt Mechanism
If your blinds don’t correctly tilt when you twist the want, then you may want to go ahead and replace them. While just installing a new tilt mechanism is an option, this generally means the whole unit has to be re-corded. So you might instead take the opportunity to invest in new beautiful blinds.
Choking Hazard
On some blinds, the cord system can create a serious choking risk for small children and pets. If the cords on your blinds are posing a safety hazard for your kids/pets, then you’ll want to be proactive about installing new blinds that don’t create this risk.
